This Privacy Policy explains how Masq ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our AI identity creation platform and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

Account Information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and password.

Identity Creation Data. Our Service allows you to create AI-generated face identities by selecting character traits. We collect the trait selections you make (such as gender, face shape, skin tone, hair style, and eye characteristics), which we refer to as "Character DNA." We also collect the names, descriptions, and visibility preferences you assign to your identities.

Generated Images. When you create an identity, we generate photorealistic face images based on your Character DNA. These images are stored in cloud storage associated with your account.

Device and Usage Information. We automatically collect certain information when you access the Service, including your IP address, browser type, and operating system. We also collect information about how you use the Service, such as login activity and feature usage.

Real-Time Streaming Data. If you use our real-time face transformation features, we collect information necessary to provide the service. Video processed during these sessions is not stored after your session ends.

Audit Data. For security and compliance purposes, we log administrative actions on the platform.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to operate and provide the Service, including creating and managing your account, processing your Character DNA to generate AI face images, storing and organizing your identities, and enabling access to your identities across supported applications.

We also use your information to improve and develop the Service by analyzing usage patterns; to protect the security and integrity of the Service by detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access; and to comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from authorities.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information with third parties only as described below.

AI Generation Services. To generate face images from your Character DNA, we send your trait selections to Google's Gemini API.

Cloud Infrastructure. Your generated images and account data are stored on Google Cloud Platform.

Email Services. We use Resend to send transactional emails such as account notifications. Your email address is shared with this provider for delivery purposes.

Analytics. We use analytics services to understand how users interact with the Service and to improve service quality.

Legal Requirements. We may disclose your information if required by law, legal process, or government request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

Business Transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies to keep you logged in and to remember your preferences. We also use browser storage to save your work in progress so you do not lose it if you navigate away from the page.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so will prevent you from using authenticated features of the Service.

Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal obligations. Your identities and generated images are retained until you delete them or close your account.

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.

Your Rights and Choices

You may access, correct, or delete your personal information by logging into your account or contacting us. You may request a copy of your identity data and generated images. You may close your account at any time, which will initiate deletion of your data.

If you receive marketing communications from us, you may opt out by following the unsubscribe instructions in those messages.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

State-Specific Disclosures

California Residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources and purposes of collection, and the categories of third parties with whom we share information. Colorado, Connecticut, and Virginia Residents. Residents of these states have the right to access, correct, and delete their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising. We do not engage in targeted advertising based on personal information.
